Nike online

Its well-known that Nike is one of the largest companies nowadays, however something is changing within its market strategy.

In the recent years, adverts from Nike have become really famous, that way Nike has a great reputation and fame. Celebrities such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Tiger Woods or Michel Jordan have taken part on that adverts.
Nike is using internet to expand itself, through sales online, they have increased their sales really fast, although its prices are still high.

In this point, I recently noticed about what the Marketing Manager of Nike said:

"We don't do advertising any more. We just do cool stuff. Its sounds a bit wanky, but thats just the way it is. Advertising is all about achieving awareness and we no longer need awareness. We need to become part of people´s lives and digital allows us to do that"

Its really hard to believe that Nike gives the advertisement up when that adverts made possible that Nike grew up incredibly fast. But if they are really thinking of operating just on internet, they should reconsider that idea in order to not losing the position which was so difficult to reach.
100 % online. I do not believe that it is the way for Nike.
Investing online, dedicating the budget in creating content and not paying means is a good strategy of digital approach.
But to trust only in " the buzz " is probably too risky. Principally for people who pay 200 euros for a pair of trainers, it wont be enough.

  1. What was the purpose of this post?

Post is too descriptive and opinion based. You need to be trying to achieve a higher order of value through a presentation of research-based opinions that yield interesting insights and conclusions.

What are you learning from this for yourself? How can you turn this into higher order learning that is relevant outside of this context?
